Update: 26 May, 2023.

We’re standing down our ‘special measures’ updates currently. Although supply chain disruptions are still unspooling with backorders throughout global supply networks, these challenges are currently fairly predictable and under control.

Update: 24 February, 2023.

Global supply chain pressures continue, with unpredictable delivery time changes and supply crunches. Our advice remains to plan for longer lead times, and build robustness and resilience into your supply chain. Quality of your inventory management has key knock-on effects to production line performance.

China’s opening of COVID restrictions is unrolling with factory closures and supply chain delays in a similar way to how the West responded with similar policy and societal changes .

Update: 19 August, 2022.

While we are moving to a post-Pandemic period, global logistics and delivery networks are under continued strain. We are helping clients become more resilient, while mitigating adverse effects of continuing worldwide supply chain issues.

We are currently running at near capacity up-servicing existing clients, but welcome enquiries to on-stream new clients in the future. If you wish to explore our services then please contact us.

Update: 01 December, 2021.

As the Pandemic has affected supply chains around the world, we continue to deliver to customers based on best sourcing and procurement efforts. We continue to advise clients to add additional buffer inventory, and plan for unavoidable longer lead-times and delivery issues.

We are happy to help clients with on-shoring logistics activities & building up resilient sourcing and component alternatives.

Update: 07 April, 2021.

We are experiencing restricted supplies of certain components due to Brexit- and Covid-related supply chain issues. The better information you can give us about your next 2-3 month production and demand forecasts, the better we can service your requirements with minimal downstream delay.

Unfortunately this is a sector-wide issue, and at Acorn we are using our extensive experience and network of suppliers to mitigate these issues as best as possible.

Update: 15 February, 2021.

Downstream delivery issues: Be aware of Brexit and Covid-related delays to shipments.

We are experiencing unavoidable downstream delivery delays. Increasing customs delays between borders because of repeat and extra paperwork, and concurrent pressure on transport & courier lines means you should plan for longer lead times & we suggest extra buffer stock.

What should be overnight air shipping is now taking 2–3 days. Land transport of shipments between a number of countries in Europe may mean 2-3x extension of normal delivery duration.

Acorn are running at capacity to overcome these external factors impacting the current business environment. The issues external delivery services are experiencing means access to them is fluid and changing, with no guaranteed delivery periods.

Update: 09 February, 2021.

Supply issues are continuing from the New Year, directly impacted by Brexit. We are unfortunately seeing unavoidable increases in supply pricing due to the increased customs & delivery friction this has caused. The ingenuity and tenacity of the UK manufacturing sector means we continue to face these challenges and outperform the negative aspects.

Update: 07 January, 2021.

We hope you had a great Christmas holiday & New Year.

We wanted to reassure all our customers that going into 2021 Acorn continue to be open, operational & COVID-secure.

Please be aware:
— All client orders are being met. Continue with COVID-safety measures.
— Consider additional buffer stock & delivery consolidation to minimise contact.
— Brexit-related border & delivery delays are impacting a small percentage of orders. Please factor in an order leadtime of 1 week wherever possible.

Update: 10 December, 2020.

– ⚠️ Notice: Extended leadtime warning as orders surge. Order early.

We are experiencing a large demand for orders as manufacturing bounces back (7% sector increase last month). Please factor in potential leadtime extension for open orders of one week.

We have extended our operational hours to cope with 100%+ increase in orders, due to the recent bounceback in manufacturing demand. Alongside this, we are doing all we can to mitigate issues with product delivery border delays due to Brexit-related disruption.

We will update accordingly. In the meantime, please factor in:
— product order leadtime of 1 week
— order as early as possible (check your demand planning)
— consider additional buffer stock
— monitor Brexit deal/no-deal updates for potential further customs & border disruption

Acorn are up-to-speed and on top of all current import/export regulations and procedures as they currently stand. We have extended operational hours to deal with the current order surge to give the best possible service to our clients as the current environment develops.

We continue to be open, operational & COVID-secure.

Update: 27 May, 2020.

– 📰 OPERATIONS UPDATE ❇️ » All issues with supply are now resolved, with operations good. While we are managing through adequate buffer stock, lead time is currently an issue, as suppliers are back on-stream but with limited production (due to social distancing/COVID-shielding). Please allow extra lead time and actioning extra buffer inventory for your production needs.
