2023 Statement on Slavery and Human Trafficking

In accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, this statement sets out the steps that Acorn Industrial Components has taken, and continues to take, to identify, monitor and remediate any issues within our business and global supply chain relating to slavery and trafficking. We understand and have a heightened awareness that slavery and trafficking exists, and the eradication of slavery and trafficking is a live and ongoing issue requiring constant vigilance.

We are committed to:

  • Work in a co-operative and supportive manner with partners in our supply chain to assist, educate and
    train.
  • Endeavour to identify potential areas of concern, addressing and resolving any issues related to this
area in the best interests of the workers affected.
  • Prevent exploitation of vulnerable people.
  • Ensure freedom of movement and eradication of forced or compulsory labour. v Identify and prevent human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
  • Fair pay in respect of work carried out.

We recognise company environment changes is necessary in this area and are implementing changes to create more knowledge and understanding and include awareness and acknowledgement of these issues across the business, and in our employee training and development programmes.

We will look at our procurement process to ensure new suppliers subscribe to, and acknowledge, the commitments to the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We are voluntarily updating relevant company policies and procedures, publishing an annual statement of our commitment in accord with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, making this publicly available on our website, and reference this with respect to supplier and client agreements.

We are committed to creating a firm foundation and policies relating to this and surrounding issues, and our future activity in this area is about establishing this strong base.
